De Nieuwe Kerk (The new Church) in Amsterdam is around 600 years old and a historic burying site for many well known Dutch historic figures such as Michiel de Ruyter. It misses the grandeur of some gothic churches we know from cities like Antwerp but...More

Located right in Dam Square, next to the Royal Palace. I would not go inside unless it was included on some card or tour, or unless you were going in to see an exhibition. They seem to cater to putting on exhibitions and new showings....More

This church was on our list of places to see as it is next to the Royal Palace. We decided NOT to go in on reflection as it had a steep entrance fee and it was hard to see what there was to look at...More

This is no longer a church and the interior is subdivided into some strange exhibitions. The building is however worth admiring.

Okay, the New Church is the place a few of the royals were coronated at, but as I looked around, I saw nothing that would make me pay extra to go inside. If you have the city pass, then probably suggest going in, but this...More

Centrally-located, again reasonable entry fee included audio guide. Lovely structure with guided tour of some of the historical features of the city.

Located in the heart of Amsterdam, De Nieuwe Kerk is a 15th century church which hosts many high-profile exhibitions. On a day out in Amsterdam, I decided to visit De Nieuwe Kerk, which is next to the Royal Palace of Amsterdam (Koninklijk Paleis Amsterdam). Greeted...More
