Touring around, early March - we knew Keukenhof was closed, but popped into the nearby castle estate.

Clearly not the season for the grounds & gardens, flowerbeds finished & trees bare - but you can imagine how glorious it looks in summer.

We stopped by the tea room/restaurant and enjoyed the cosy atmosphere and some coffee & cake.

Happened to be Mother’s Day, so was quite busy but didn’t affect the service - the friendliest and best we had during our four days in Amsterdam & surrounds.

Thank you!

Overrated. Does not worth the money and time. Overflow with tourists. We were given time slots for bus, but no one respect it.

Majestic restored 17th-century mansion on a lovely estate with easy sinuous and symmetrical walkways.
Intriguing metal and stone sculptural pieces juxtaposed with historical buildings. Classic symmetry in some of the garden areas with sculptures placed on axis and vegetation used to frame views.

I joined a guided live-streamed tour with Stephan from Heygo to see the Dahlia flowers in the garden of this castle. Stephan is a wonderful guide with his calm demeanour and soothing voice. He showed us many varieties of Dahlia of different colours such as the pom-pom type and the larger ball kind.
I could take many photographs of the lovely flowers when he showed us the close-up views.
The tour lasted an hour and we were completely mesmerised by the beauty of the Dahlia flowers throughout. There is a restaurant at the garden. This tour is lovely and Stephan told us that the temperature is a gorgeous 20 degrees Centigrade. Dahlia flowers bloom for a period of three months.

Free parking. No entrance fee to the area. The wide garden is open for all to promenade. Visited it when the dahlia flowers were blooming. The flowers certainly added joy walking around the castle. There is a restaurant and an animal farm.

Well, this is located in a very nice area and a big park around. But, the castle is closed to the public and it’s currently being used for events such as weddings.

This location is a beautiful place to go with family especially small children as there is a small petting zoo. The staff there are very friendly and helpful. However unless you just want to relax and walk around there isn’t much to do. You can probably stay for a couple of hours before moving on. There is a small restaurant to get a drink which is also nice and peaceful.

This is one of the wonders of the world.
Everything during our visit was perfect, the Dutch really outdone themselfs.
We took the bus from Schiphol and all the logistics was good.
This is a must see if you visit Amsterdam in April.
Bus plus entrance was only € 26 per person.
