We really liked this trip. Beautiful windmill setting. It gives one a sense of early Dutch life and an explanation of the dike system and role of water management in the Netherlands. Recommend.

My youngest daughter and I ventured out to Zaanse Schans a few days ago. It was a very good thing we met up with another English speaking couple as they helped us find our way. The instructions we received via another location made it seem much more simple than it actually was. Also, be careful that you board the correct... More

Interesting, fascinating! Lovely to get away from the city. Gives a natural and true Dutch experience. Free cheese tasting and tutorials, free clog making tutorials. Little gift and souvenir shops. Beautiful scenery and amazing sights. Very interesting to see! Just very cold and windy so wrap up warm!

My husband and I were in Amsterdam for a few days and decided on a day trip out to Zaanse Schans . Such a beautiful place . It was like stepping back in time to a much simpler life . I went on a sunny day and really enjoyed walking around the shops and even going inside a working windmill.

I know it is a tourist attraction, but the excess tourists ruined the experience - think best going at offpeak times of day. Felt the whole experience quite average which was a shame as had been looking forwards to this for some... More
