The city gates are quite large and well preserved. They are also quite unusual with some unusual design features. It is well worth walking around the city to see the gates.

Amazing what the Dutch people can build with bricks. This is a beautiful city gate and a nice walk from the shopping area.

There are a number of city gates (points of entry) into the old town of Amerfsoort. In the old days these were the gates where you would enter the town, as the town was closed by a canal / big wall. There are very significant...More

very sweet old town worth the trip, you have a central street full of shops and a couple of nice squares which are populated with restaurants and pubs. The gate is a nice place to enter the city.

Remarkable old town wall, makes almost a complete circle. In remarkably good condition. Wall and the buildings in the old section are exceptionally well preserved and the details are beautiful.

Walk along the wall of the old city! Its about 2,5 kilometers. You'll see all the gates leading in and out of the city. The greater part of the circumference of the city are parks which provide shade on hot days. Definatly nice thing to...More

These are actually one in the same structure...one gate for water and one for land. You will end up seeing both together anyway.
