We rented our bikes outside, bought online tickets to save 1 euro/head. Basically you can go in to the compound without tickets and it's already nice. But if you're interested to see the inside of the windmills, then get the tickets, it's worth it :)

One of our stops on our river boat cruise, something I always wanted to see. Was alot better than I ever thought it would be. Our tour guide was very informative, knowledgeable, with a bit of humor.

We came here on a Viking cruise. Our guide was Robin, a young film student, native to the area who communicated with humor and knowledge. The 19 Windmills are amazing, a few over 400 years old. It was drizzling, then raining, then drizzling again but...More

Thank you for your kind review. So nice to read that, even though it was a rainy autumn day, you experienced a great tour at World Heritage Kinderdijk with one of our voluntary guides. Even when it rains it is a beautiful place isn't it?...More

Part of travelling to the Netherlands was the love of windmills and their history in a region flooded with water, wind power used to keep the land useableand dry for farmers. Along with canals and dikes windmills are the backbone. Visually appealing sustainable wind energy.

A beautiful historic site where you get a taste of The Netherlands. Authentic windmills located along a small river, a place worthwhile visiting, it's a two hour drive from Amsterdam

You can enter the area for free (but they dont tell you this at the entrance). To visit the mills inside (2) costs 8. There is an audioguide available through the app, however it does not work with onsite wifi. Strange.

It was amazing to view 18th century windmills in a beautiful bucolic setting. To see the inner workings and how a miller's family lived, you can view the interior of two of the windmills. The ingenuity of the Dutch nearly 300 years ago to determine...More

Kinderdijk offers visitors of all ages a chance to see windmills up close and even enter one and climb up to the top. It was interesting to learn about flood management and the role of the windmills at this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Excellent destination to visit in one day. Easily accessible and family friendly. You can also visit the museum in order to understand how windmills work and are maintained

Hey Beachlovers, We loved our trip. I'm was a Viking River Cruise called The Rhine Getaway. It was from Amsterdam to Basel. You can look at their website. I wasn't allowed to post it on here. Hope this helps you!
