Rotterdam is a waterside city and there is no better way to enjoy it than staying close walking along the Waterstad.

We took the metro into the downtown area of this lovely modern city and started walking. My cousin and her kids took us for a great walk over the Eramusbrug where we took in the sites and sounds of the waterstad of Rotterdam. Recommend that everyone goes to this area of theis wonderful city! We will return for another visit... More

We walked from one bridge to the other and Haida very pleasant time. The views are wonderful, and it's sure to be a nice afternoon. You can also go running or sprinting in this area. I'd recommend seeing the water way.

It is very rare that you would find a part of the city where you need not use any of the modern transportation methods to explore the city such as trains, buses or trams or taxis. The Waterstad in Rotterdam just requires your legs and you can walk your way through all the sight seeing places. During your walk you... More

Rotterdam is a pleasant city to walk around and admire the architecture. There are several interesting buildings at both ends of the Erasmus Bridge. On the south side of the bridge there is an elevated walk enabling you get a higher view. Or get a higher view from the Erasmus Bridge itself. Lots of traffic on the harbor to watch... More

The Waterstad is the area of the City around the Erasmus Bridge that encompasses residential, commercial and industrial architecture. Most walking tours around Rotterdam will direct you through part of this area. If you come to Rotterdam, you have to check out the Waterstad and appreciate the cosmopolitan culture of this coastal and riverside city.
