Small but good

This museum is relatively small but they managed to pack in a great collection. The selection is really good, big enough to enjoy and explore but small enough not to get bored.

Truly beautiful 3rd floor (Tibet and Japan), interesting 2nd and 1st floors as well. The museum is quiet, well organized and offers images and music rather than lengthy explanations. Recommended.

I think this museum is the most underrated one in Rotterdam. It is a bit pricy, but by far the most beautiful one. The building is absolutely stunning and the care for the exhibitions is superb. Its never too busy and thats maybe why the staff is always so friendly. This museum is also interesting for older kids just because... More

What a amazing experience on a Saturday morning! Besides the normal collections we came to see the AFRIKA 010 collection. It exhibits top pieces as the source of inspiration for art, design, architecture, fashion, jewelry, and music from Africa. These items present a parade of impressions and "...an enrapturing visual experience such as statues and masks, largely hailing from a... More

Found this hidden gem of Rotterdam while walking back to my house after trip from Kinderdijk. Near to Waterbus stop and very beautiful museum at perfect location. Many amazing artifacts kept here and the special one is at the entrance of the museum. The statue of Lord Ganesha with the background of New Rotterdam is very beautiful and has amazing... More

This is my absolute favorite museum, the rooms are beautiful, the building is gorgeous and the staff is always super friendly. The museum is is suited for people who don't like noise. I think its too expensive though

Visited here to see the African exhibition, it is stunning. The power figures are amazing and costumes, headdresses and other artefacts a treat. You can listen to a commentaryear at various points throughost the exhibition - it's well worth taking advantage of this. The other exhibitions are just as exciting - the World of the Dalai Lama, the Light of... More

I went already twice to this museum and I enjoyed both times. It's hard to define the specific of this museum (it's name actually means world museum), it's an art collection from all over the world (the collection change but includes Buddists sculptures, Middle Eastern works, Oceanic art, etc). The eclecticism, instead of making it confusing, I think makes the... More

Wereldmuseum is a relatively small, but highly entertaining museum. It has a string focus on both the African (temporary) and Buddhist(regular collection) cultures. At times it felt overly elite, with details and language far surpassing regular knowledge level(with sometimes words I've never heard before, as native Dutch University student). It can be visited in a 1.5 hour to 2 hour... More

Today I went to the museum, I was greeted by very friendly and helpfull staff, the explained how the museum was laid out, that you need to start at the third floor and work your way down. At the moment they are busy with setting up an African exposition due to which I couldn't see the whole museum, in six... More
