When we walked around this pond where are set Old Harbour, White House and some other interesting urban buildings and dutch authentic houses, we also visited Mariniers Museum, located in Wijnhaven street. This nice small museum tells us the story about marine corps, from their beginnings, 350 years ago, to the modern days. Here we saw an amazing collection, as impressive... More

This museum has a very nice setup with elevators taking you to various level. That take you back in time to the Netherlands was in. You can see the various weapons and Uniforms on this play. I am not much of history lover but it was nice.

Nice museum about the history of the Dutch marine corps. The Dutch marinecorps was the first marinecorps in the world and this museum gives a good picture of the history of them from the 17th century untill today. Special sections are contributed to the marines that defended the city of Rotterdam against the Nazi forces in may 1940. Also this... More

If you want to see some history on the Dutch marines, you should visit this museum. No bloody scenes but just very interesting stuff about those marines. Drums and pipes, military gear and other stuff. It gives you a feeling of how a day in the field was (even recent history of Afghanistan missions) but also the force and trouble... More

Small 3 floors building next to the Oude haven shows history of Dutch marines and their ties with the city of Rotterdam. Quite OK for 30-40 minutes

This is mostly a collection of stuff relating to the Dutch Marine Corps. With a few changes it could be a much better experience. As others have said, the level of English support is enough to give you a basic idea of what's being discussed, but you're left with a lot of holes. It was frequently challenging to figure out... Well prepared, informative and friendly staff. Received a whole floor of personal attention (during weekday, early) to start, and a 15 minute conversation to finish. Feedback was most welcome. Exhibits have original artifacts, histories, multi-media, and best of all - personal stories over the Marine's history. One of the best museum experiences I've had. Only down side was the video's... I like seeing museums about the marines and army stuff, however I was disappointed as every single information was written only in Dutch, so all I could do was looking at the pictures and the different uniforms and firearms
