Omniversum An all-round amazing experience Omniversum - the movie theatre...

Omniversum An all-round amazing experience Omniversum - the movie theatre where you are part of the action. It has a screen 4500 times larger than an ordinary TV, pumps out 15,000 watts of sound from 36 speakers and immerses your senses in the most amazing film experience ever. This unique movie theatre is designed to transport you to another world. The big-screen films take you to space, where you can meet the astronauts of the International Space Station, and bring you face-to-face with the most fascinating scenery and creatures on Earth. And all without having to leave your seat. You don't just watch a film here, you become part of it! Omniversum, an attraction in The Hague for over 33 years, is a unique movie theatre, the only one of its kind in the Benelux. The films are suitable for all ages, unless specified otherwise. The films are in Dutch but a special app lets you follow the original English-language version using your own mobile phone and headset. Earphones can also be obtained from the Omniversum front desk. A new film starts every hour on the hour. If you want to watch a second film on the same day, you only pay EUR 5.50. Omniversum is suitable for children from the age of four, but some young children may find the large screen and sound system rather overwhelming.

Omniversum was unique place at the time it was opened and it still has something of its glory, but surely it could be renovated. The movie about earth from space was interesting, but we expected more.

Interesting documentaires. Like if you were there on a space ship. The documentairs are not very long, only 40 or 45 m. and the price is expensive. You can better buy tickets for two of them with a reduced price. You can park there or in the Marriott hotel parking for a reduced day ticket.

Seeing documentaries here is a joy for ear and eye. Especially the nature documentaries are fun to watch. As if you are there yourself. Lifelike real!

I watched 2 of the documentaries here - Under the Sea & the African Seregeti one. Bring or buy earphones for english narration. Thought it was amazing - sitting up high in the cinema you felt like you were hovering over the top of everything. Sitting down lower the seats are reclined back so you are looking at the roof... Omniversum is worth a visit, depending on the type of show. We watched the national parks show with my 10 and 8 years old kids and the whole family enjoyed it. We had our own earphones but the volume was too loud with no possibility to adjust it. It was a bit frustrating. The cinema is quite old compared to... More

The documentaries are focussed on nature, and Under The Sea was my favorite one. Great place to take young kids and immerse yourself in a world on screen. Because it is a dome screen, the film is almost all you can see. Do try to find places closest to the projector in the middle, since they give you the best... More

I visited the Omniversum with my grandson of 8 who doesn't speak or understand Dutch. I read a review here which said 'don't bother if you're not Dutch'. At the Cash register the girl told us that we could purchase a pair of earphones for 1 euro or use our own if we brought any. The Omniversum is a globe... More

Very immersive and impressive video experience, but... the movies are dubbed in Dutch. We were given earphones to hear the English narration, but since the Dutch narration is at high volume and the earphones are of a cheap in-ear type, it was really hard to understand - and our kids were quite frustrated. If your have your own headset it... More

I came here with my aunt and uncle, and they told me it will be beautifull. But I didn ´t acpected that it should be that amazing. It´s such a great experience, it´s like you are believing it with them. I totally recomend it.

Thank Rebecca V
