I got in contact with Philippe Harold (I believe i dealt with William) in December with regards an engagement ring. Once he knew my budget, he advised me on the best diamond i could get, that would fit in with my design (i wanted a diamond halo and engraved gold band also). After a couple of weeks of emailing about... More

To be honest, I can't see what all the fuss is about. Unless you've ridiculous amounts of money to burn and know enough not to be totally ripped off, this area's only good for window-shopping. Most of the backstreet diamond dealers look dodgy and dingy, and the smart ones are clearly for those with more money than sense.

After checking out the beautiful Central Train Station we headed over to the Diamond District to "window shop." A shop called DiamondLand (Appelmansstraat 33A) offers a free tour of how diamonds are cut, polished, graded, etc It was fun to see both the antique and modern tools side by side. We expected some high pressure sales to follow but were... More

On the way to the Hotel there was plenty of shops with very beautiful diamond jewellery of a very high standard. It was a Saterday afternoon and we can only do window shopping because the shops was closed.

I am sure you can possibly get a great purchase in Antwerp but with so many shops how does one know if the quality is legit. As for looking and getting to go a a tour of a Diamond shop this is the place to go. Bring your wallet if you are with your lady especially if she fancies Diamonds.

No visit to Antwerp is complete until you have visited the Diamond Quarter. Fantastic displays of jewels in the windows - non of which are priced of course. Incredible. Don't go on Saturdays - most will be closed as the trade is mostly undertaken by the Jewish Community who are mainly Chasidim in Antwerp.

At this neighbourhood most of the stores are closed on a saturday, and since we did not needed to buy diamonds we did not go back on the rainy sunday either. But on a nice sunny day it is a good place to shop arround. Now we just walked through to go to the center of Antwerp

I was rather disapointed by the Diamond District. Not actually much to see and in a bit of a strange area. You get excellent jewelry shops all over town, no need to go there
