A bit hesitant at first to pay 8€ for a visit to the tower, but absolutely no regret! Climbing the stairs, visiting interesting floors in between with a grande finale on the sky terrace. What a view! Seeing planes take off at Brussels airport, looking...More

Visited the tower a few times already with family and friends who came over to visit. The cathedral is now being restored to have even more of its former glory revealed. Both outside and inside have scaffolding but it does not take away the view...More

The cathedral can be seen from miles! It is truly an amazing tall building dominating Mechelen’s skyline. At one end of the main square, the church rises above the splendid architecture of both private and public buildings, including the city hall and others. The interior...More

You need to have a good physical condition as there's over 500 steps to be mounted, but it's worth the view. On a sunny day you can see both Brussels and Antwerp. Wonderful!

Over the years, after visiting countless cathedrals, you sometimes get to think that they are all much alike. You certainly couldn’t say that about St Rumbold’s in Mechelen. The bell tower here is, without doubt, the tallest and most ornate tower I have ever seen...More

The Cathedral was nice, and they are in the middle of what seemed to be a major renovation project inside and out. The bell tower is probably the main attraction for tourists. 8 euro to go up, and it is a lot of steps, maybe...More

From the top you have a splendid view when the sky is clear. You have to climb many stairs before you are there. But it's worth it! You can see Antwerp and on the other side Brussels.

Cathedral was beautiful inside, enjoyed the walk up the bell tower and all the information provided. We were in the bell tower on the level with the bells - amazing but loud. Highly recommend St Rumbold's Cathedral and the walk up the tower.
