Good exercise going up the hill. A good look at history in the museum. The kids ran up the stairs and ran around the lion. All good.

Once I saw the statue of the lion on the top of the mound, I was mesmerized. Looking closely, it almost looked like it was alive. It’s eyes stood up. I decided to take pictures of it from different angles. I had a lot of fun doing so. The Panorama & Visitor's Center was quite a surprise to me as... More

As we were driving towards the Mound, we started getting glimpses and began to get an appreciation for how massive the monument was. Knowing this area is where a major battle was fought and history made was very interesting. We decided not to ascend the mound but opted to walk around and then stop at the visitor's center. We had... More

We visited the Lions Mound and then Museum and found it very interesting, all the Napoleonic uniforms on display make it well worth seeing, there was also a very good 4D Movie which made you feel like part of the battle, the Panorama display is also well worth the view.

I passed on the Monument many times, yet being close and on top of it was amazing. The views were fantastic, climbing up wasn't that hard as I expected, but tiring though, the winds weren't that strong so we enjoyed a fantastic experience and took so many photographs from high above. So much history behind it. was good to know

This is worth visiting for anyone interested in history. The displays, view and panorama make history come alive and will allow everyone, young and old to come away with a greater sense of the importance of this historic battle and its key players.

I always wondered what that giant lion from the pictures looked like in real life. So on a Sunday I finally found out. It is not possible to visit only the statue: underground there is a museum where you learn more about Napoleon, what he did, who was involved in the war and so on. You get an audioguide and... More

The Lion's Mound at the site of the Battle of Waterloo gives a very good view over the battlefield, although by scraping away some feet of the ridge on which the Allied defence rests, the Duke of Wellington said "they have ruined my battlefield". A bit of a stiff climb to the top. In front of the mound are the... More
