I didnt watch any of the photos. I was totally amazed by the art nouveau building that was so amazingly gracefull, beaufiful, crafted with inspiration in the shapes of nature.

Contretype is a wonderful cultural space devoted to contemporary photography which doesn't even require an entrance fee. Its exhibitions are diverse and represent new and established photographers from across Europe and the globe. (A note to visitors, however: Contretype is no longer located in the Hotel Hannon, a stunning example of Art Nouveau which is currently undergoing restoration. Its new... More

After seeing online photos of Hotel Hannon, I was really excited about visiting this beautiful art nouveau space. We visited on the afternoon of Sunday, May 3, and, despite the banners promoting the Espace Photographique Contretype on the street, this place was well and truly shut. Not sure if it is closed on Sundays or if it is undergoing restoration.... More

A beautiful art deco house, now used as a photo gallery. It has some very nice features like the fresco in the stairwell, the mosaic floors and certainly the stunning stained glass windows. They are done by Evaldre, who studied at Tiffany's. A pity that the original furniture is all gone. The entrance price is only €3 and a really... More

A beautiful, nicely unmolested old Art Nouveau house with a gentle patina. Sensitively converted into a photography gallery. For a very reasonable €3 you can linger in the dining room looking at their library of photography books, and explore the several rooms on the ground and first floors. The staircase is gorgeous. Their little guide to the house is informative.... More

This lovely art deco building by Architect Jules Brunfaut is within walking distance of the Horta Museum. It is now used as a museum but is inexpensive to enter and a definite must see for art deco fans. There is a marvelous fresco just as you enter and unlike at the Horta Museum you can take all the photos your... More
