If you want to learn more about Brussels and the folklore then have a look at the City of Brussels museum, over two floors it will start at the early settlements to today, I suggest this is more of an rainy day activity unless you...More

Neo gothic building from the last quarter of the 19th century, opposite Town Hall. Basically there are 3 sections: Brussels Art, the development of the city and Manneken Pis. There is no audio guide but the scanning of the QR code offers lots of information...More

It was ok but a bit dull in parts - I only read the signs and did not get the audioguide so maybe I was missing out there. Learnt about the history which was nice and interesting - pleasant way to spend the afternoon

Housed in the former town hall of Brussels, this building is simply stunning as befits a building in the grand place. The entrance fee is fine and about right for the location and size of the collection. The staff are really quite surly though, especially...More

The museum is located in an architecturally pleasing looking building. It's beautiful inside out. The...More

The museum is located in the heart of the city, in the big market. Since you are expected to visit the market while in Brussels, if you have time you should visit this museum too.

There's art from Brussels on the ground floor (some interesting porcelain), a bit more history on the second and then the original Mannekin Pis plus a bit on its history up top. Nothing amazing but a bit of an introduction to Brussels plus the price...More

Located on the Grand Place--admission 8 Euros for adults. Lots of sculptures, paintings, porcelain, silver, stained glass and 3-D models of the city at different times. A smart-phone download gives you the recorded narrative by the curator. Well worth the time and small expense if...More

I had the good fortune recently to enjoy a holiday to both Brussels and Amsterdam and thoroughly enjoyed both cities. One area where Amsterdam took the advantage was their city museum. It's interesting because both have located themselves in a building which are themselves a...More
