Nice church

St. Nicolas is a nice, quite small church, not far away from the Grand Place, about 5 minutes to walk. It is a Catholic church in late Gothic style.

4th church build in Brussels (in 1125 but the only remains are near entrance door, discovered during renovation in 1956). Next to the busy and crowded Grand Place, you will find a surprisingly peaceful place. If you take a few minutes to sit down from a side and look at the light coming through the colored stained glass, you may... More

I always have my moment of Zen in this church. It is small, quiet and gives you a feeling of peace. When you are tired of walking and looking at shops and tourist attractions, this is the perfect place to rest your mind and body. For 1 euro, you can light a candle as an offering. This is by the... This beautiful and small church is situated around old houses, close to the Grand place. It's a really old church that was repaired after the French bombardments, that's why the main facade looks so Gothic?! Beautiful inside 😍

Down toward the Bourse from the Grand Place in a church named after Santa Claus. It's a beautiful church and a favorite of resident Americans as it is the only church in Brussels that has a regular Subday mass in English (10am). Good for a thirty minute visit.

The church seems small from the exterior but the interior hs the high Gothic arched ceilings and the stone alters are amazing.

A beautiful church at the entrance of the Grand Place. The heavy wooden doors were closed and we were not sure if the church was open or not but we tried a door and it opened to reveal a very nice church. The pews have been removed and chairs put in their place which makes for more comfortable seating. There... More

Built around 1125 this is one of the first churches in Brussels and is considered the best preserved. It is immediately across the street from a Natural History Museum that also housed the Belgium Bourse. This church is plainer on the outside than its contempories but inside it has a beautifully carved pulpit and baroque altar. There are many other... More
