On many occasions in the past, over 20 years ago, I have travelled through the gallery walking from the Central Station to work over towards the Place du Luxembourg. This time it really did look a bit run down especially the remnants of what used to be a very attractive fountain at the bottom of the stairs at the opposite... More

The architecture of this place is magnificent it was such a shame that there are no shops of any interest in there and the whole place feels a bit dead. A real shame. Worth seeing for the magnificent architecture though.

When you enter a shopping gallery, even on a Sunday like we did, you expect some 'grandeur'. Galerie Ravenstein in Brussels opened in 1958. It can be closed in 2007. We strolled through it on our way from the Central Station to Bozar (the Palace of Fine Arts). Gloomy, deserted, some cafés with one lonely visitor, empty terraces and a... More
