This is just a couple of rooms explaining a bit about the saxophone and it's inventor, with a copy of the patent and a saxophone. Interesting if you like music.

This is a small (2 room) free museum. There's a little personal history which is nice and some attempt to outline why Sax's developments were unique. But it is a little small and more could be done with the space - it doesn't (for example)...More

In my optimistic ignorance, I had assumed that a museum situated in the home of Adolphe Sax would have had much more than a timeline and lots of drawings about the development of his saxophone. I kinda expected something about his lifestyle etc, with furnished...More

This small, free interactive museum is worth a quick visit. Interesting info for music lovers and helpful in understanding why Dinant loves Monsieur Sax. Easy diversion during your day in Dinant.

Absolutely fascinating! Amazing history of a man who, through trial and error, pushed through the boundaries and traditional conventions of what was considered possible in generating sound for the purpose of music. Ironically, though he died in poverty, he changed the world of music forever.
