If you get a chance, definitely walk down this area at night. The way the lights reflect on the water and onto the building fronts! It's so beautiful and it almost doesn't look real. You must go!

This is the old harbour of Ghent and has some magnificent buildings along the edge including the oldest stepped house. It's pleasant to sit here and watch the passersby

Very well rearranged , restorated, cosy and sympathetic place. Hot spot in summer with lovely terasses, plenty of people. Can be crowdy. surrounded by authenteke old buildings.

On the other side is Korenlei where you get the views of everyone doing this on Graslei but with not as much going on. You can also take the canal boat... More

Great place to sit and have a beer and take in the view as well as the passing tourists and other people. Place to catch a boat tour if that's your thing.

The view from the bridge, looking at Graslei is simply beautiful. The old houses along the river Leie is one of the best views of Gent. From this point you also have a lovely view of the three large towers that define the Gent skyline.

From Saint Michael's bridge you have an astonishing view over the medieval city harbour. On the right hand side you see old warehouses, some of them are now exquisite restaurants or shops with a very refined collection. On the left the houses are slightly younger and more elegant. One of them has been restored to house the Marriott hotel. Between... More

this is the place the students go, to enjoy the sun, as they have no garden in their student room. always nice to stroll by, on a sunny day :-)
