    Selfie hotspot
Exactly why the small, unassuming Boniface bridge, dating from the early 20th century, has become a hotspot for selfie-takers, is a mystery. There are many sights in the area: the Church of Our Lady, the Gruuthuse Museum, the Monument to Juan Luis Vives and the Arentshof with the sculptures of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse yet people are queuing to take close-ups of their own face while standing on the bridge. Weird!

    Most-photographed bridge in Bruges!
The St. Bonifacius Bridge is undoubtedly the most visited and most-photographed in Bruges. It's actually one of the newest of the city's bridges, built in the early 20th century. But, what it lacks in age, it makes up for in character and charm. The area is surrounded with historic buildings and gorgeous scenery adjacent to the Church of Our Lady.

It's Just A Bridge, But What A Bridge!
My wife and I first went under this bridge on the boat tour. It was then that we learned this is the most photographed spot in Bruges. Yes, we took a selfie. Although the Boniface Bridge may be one of the youngest bridges in Bruges, it sums up the city perfectly. It offers a mysterious atmosphere, abundantly romantic, and fabulous views that fight for your attention. Looking around you, you can gaze at the little canals and overhanging half-timbered houses, or if you tilt back your head, you can admire the stately Church of Our Lady. This is truly amagical place at any hour of the day, and one that must be seen to be believed.

    Tourist must-do
It seems to be a must for tourists in Bruges to visit this small bridge and take a picture on it. Frankly speaking, the view is not particularly outstanding in this lovely historic city and the bridge itself is pretty narrow. Anyway, a lot of people will come regardless of the reality.

    Photo op.
This is one of the newer bridges in Bruges but made to look old to fit in with the very old buildings in the surrounding area. It's famous for be famous with every man and his dog taking photos on the bridge because of the lovely backdrop. Popular for wedding photos and for tourists doing what tourists do. And what I did, as a tourist. Worth a visit but note that it does get very busy.

A beautiful place and that's why it's swamped with tourist taking pictures. Should have go there first in the early hours to avoid the crowd.

This is not the prettiest bridge in Bruges but its popular with couples taking selfies. Lots of legends about the match-making properties of the bridge!

Worth visiting to stand on and admire the views but often crowded with tourists vying to take selfies.
We took a couple of photos of the river and timber framed buildings and then moved on

There were so many people taking selfies at the same time on the bridge (as to be expected I guess). But it worth seeing

Yes, very photographed as its quaint. But so many people taking selfies on the bridge can get a little annoying.
