A small but well-regarded commercial beer company, De Struise Brouwers is the brainchild of two ostrich farm owners (and in fact, the brewery’s name is taken from the historic Flemish name for this bird). It produces award-winning, distinctive regional beers in its own microbrewery in West Flanders, making them available for sampling and sales to visitors. Struise makes the best beer, period. Stouts, brown ales, oud bruins, IPAs and barrel aged specialties can all be found here. They treat their customers well and are committed to their craft. ❤

there is nowhere else that you can taste these special beers. They have 3 beers on tap / draft, and lots of bottles to buy. There are seats for around 6 people but essentially this is a shop.

Only at de Struise can one taste the most nuanced Belgian beers around. Strong ales, stouts, barrel aged beers, Flemish ales and any other quality blend imaginable are offered here. Make sure you try anything head brewmaster Urbain Coutteau suggests - you will leave a...More

This is a must see for beer geeks, but probably not for anyone else. It's a tiny shop, with two or three Struise beers on tap. There are no great comforts, but Struise are very hip and rock 'n' roll as far as brewing goes,...More

We only heard about this place as the lady running our B&b recommended we should visit. No signage from street so one needs to know address. Only open from 2-6pm on Saturdays but we got there late and were short on time so only bought...More

I visited the taphouse in Oustvleteren. It's only open Saturday afternoon's 2 - 6pm. It was interesting place to try quality Belgium beers, with the small taphouse having 20 or so draft lines. There is a small shop with about 10 different bottles to purchase.

We spent a couple days in the small town of Poperinge, Belgium with the goal being to visit, among others, De Struise Brewery. They are only open on a Saturday afternoon. Long story, short, we experienced a flat tire while bicycling from another brewery to...More

A little odd that this place exists as it is large enough to fit maybe max 10 people comfortably and only sells one brewery's beers: Struise. Great beers that they are. They usually have 3 beers on tap and they are happy to explain what...More
