The 115 metres high brick tower of the Church of Our Lady is a perfect illustration of the craftsmanship of Bruges' artisans. The church displays a valuable art collection: Michelangelo's world-famous Madonna and Child, countless paintings, 13th-century painted sepulchres and the tombs of Mary of Burgundy and Charles the Bold.

You should definitely stop here to see Michelangelo's Madonna and Child. You are not allowed too close but still it's something to behold. The church too even though it is under construction is pretty amazing.

Peaceful and quiet. Not too busy plenty of spots to sit and look at the Madonna and child .. busy outside not inside. The church is well maintained ..

The statue is stunning but it is well-protected in the church and therefore hard to see up close. The rest of the church has beautiful artwork, so it is well worth the visit.

Was able to see this in its best setting, and during a brief service at noon. It is the most notable feature of the church. Worth detouring to see and it's free!

Fantastic cathedral but it is the only piece of art by Michelangelo to go outside Italy that make this a must visit over any other great cathedral. Museum pass covers entrance fee to this. Worth getting.

and it is the statue that robbed Hitler and whose history of rescue is counted in the film Monument of Matt Damon. Deserves a visit only by curiosity or by religion. You have to pay to see it.

When you see the Madonna you instantly flip your eyes to the Vatican and the see the pieta there. This tension may make you feel the tremendous "performance" and love of Maria for God and her loving "duty of mankind. Then you walk the church....More

I understand this is the 'Church of our lady' that hosts the famous 'Modona with the child' sculpture of Michaelangelo. This place is something. Must visit for art & history lovers.
