The almshouses are within a walled garden, beautifully laid out - if in need of maintenance. Only one of the buildings appeared to be occupied - and it would be a shame for them to deteriorate further. I'm sure this won't be allowed to happen. The 3 resident ducks delightful!

Just a nice quiet place to explore. A little bit of history that would be a shame to miss. Well kept garden area surrounded by cute little almshouses, some still occupied although many seemed to be empty and although not derelict they were looking sad.

When I arrived at the De Vos Almshouse I was admiring its houses. They were so beautiful! Wow! The almshouses were quite popular during the Middle Ages in Bruges. Wealthy people as well as guilds supported these endeavors. Thanks to them, the poor could have a place to stay. Wow! Bruges took care of its poor in the Middle Ages.... More

My wife and I stumbled upon these almshouses more or less by accident. It's well worth taking a look into the courtyard where the gardens appear to be well-tended, despite the fact that most of the houses did not appear to be occipied.

Saw this on a walking tour of the city. Neat courtyard. Pretty garden and interesting buildings and history. Would probably recommend.

Our trip to the medival city of brugges was facinating we have been back many times. Hotel Ter Duinen is one of the best small family run hotels we have had bed and breakfast in. It is also cheap and if you pay up front. the proprietor will give you a 20% discount on the cost of your stay.

I loved how you walked through a doorway in a wall and came upon this magical spot, with its beautiful gardens and quaint houses. Another one of Bruges very many special spots to discover. Need to be walking to see this gem.

We went for a walk in the evening, not the shortest way back home from the centre, it was very nice to go in to see the courtyard garden and enjoy it.

Had to find this place and it's absolutely lovely. A little sanctuary that is just nice to walk around, we were lucky the weather was great and that makes a difference
