Its No longer a Museum.Save your self the trip...the museum is sold to a collector in Britain and therefore closed as of early 2015. It used to be a must see when in Ypres,

Save your self the trip...the museum is sold to a collector in Britain and therefore closed as of early 2015. It used to be a must see when in Ypres, alas, alas... Let Tripadvisor be your guide to one of the other impressive Musea in the surrounding.

If you have relatives who were killed in the Wars, their name will follow you around the Museum. This is the most stunning Memorial to those who were killed in the Wars. Suitable for School Age and over. A must see.....

Apart from visiting the museum at the rear of the bar I always like to have a couple of glasses of the peace beer which i think is unique to the place. It's an interesting museum and the bar also shows WW1 videos. Ramparts cemetery and the lille gate are adjacent and it's a good place to head for along... More

Since the innkeeper past away the collection was sold by his spouse in October 2014. The former outstanding collection and display is no more. It became just a normal Ypres Flemish pub. No need to go to see a military collection or to have a talk with the innkeeper about collecting WW1 artefacts; This is all past now...... over and... More

Superb and not well known, but well worth dropping in here. Not far from the Ramparts cemetery either and a great little cake shop opposite!

This is in the back of a bar -- and you have to have a beer first, or something -- just inside the Lille Gate and near the splendid Ramparts Cemetey. You walk through a dark and musty chamber, with dioramas beside you, and it's realistic and creepy. I liked the In Flanders Fields Museum, but got a very different... More

Small cemetery on Rose Coombes trail, and well worth a visit for the peace, tranquility and beautiful views over the lake. Watch the coots, moorhens and grebes on the moat, and enjoy looking round the graves.
