Wonderfully preserved and so very clean, this is a gem worth visiting just for the architecture and historical value.

It's a lovely spot in the centre. There is a range of shops, bars and restaurants around but be aware, shops particularly, that prices may be higher here as it is the main centre. If you have time shop around. Come with a camera, lovely place when the weather is fine.

We visited at the wrong time of year (winter) to fully appreciate the market square as I should imagine it is a thriving dining experience in warmer weather. Amazing when you see the ruins that were left in 1918 and how it stands now.

Great place to spend time browsing and having a few drinks in the bars. We were there on a cold and windy day in March. This place must be awesome in the summer time.... We were still there in the evening after a visit to menin gate for the last post.

What I find so impressive about Ypres is that it was nothing but rubble after WWI but the plans of the city were hidden during the war. After the armistice the townsfolk set about rebuilding the town brick by brick to replicate what was originally there. It is just so beautiful and such an inspiring story.

A lovely square with amazing Belgian architecture that has lots of bars, restaurants and chocolate shops around the perimeter. We visited on a Sunday so it was very quiet but we will definitely be returning for a weekend and enjoying the local hostelries and ale.

It is unbelivable to look at this and think this has been loving rebuilt twice in the last 100yrs. You would not know as it looks perfect. At night the way the buildings are lit really give them another dimention. Beautiful is a word that is often used, but it really is.

We went here for the Christmas Market, but spent more time wandering around the square than actually in the market. A lovely little square with lots of 'traditional' shops, chocolates, memorabilia and possibly the biggest meringues I have ever seen! Well worth a trip.
