I don’t mean “don’t miss this” I mean you you can’t miss it unless you arrive from the east and depart from the east. The best view without a doubt is from the old road in from Lisbon. It’s not incredible for its engineering as...More

Very difficult to understand how they did it. A gigantic construction to bring water from one place to another just using the hight difference.

This aquaduct is very impressive, you should see it at night, all out up showing different angles and arches. Camper in motorhome next to it so saw it throughout the night and morning. Worth seeing. Great piece of history.

Built in the medieval age, this aqueduct is impressive even today. It can be admired at the entrance to the old town where there is a large parking lot.

This aqueduct was built in the 16th century (so not by the Romans!). However it is an impressive structure which used to bring water to the city. We stayed in one of the car parks next to the aqueduct.

I am looking out of my hotel window at a Roman Aquaduct that dominates the landscape, what more can you ask for as a history enthusiast. For photography, you need to choose your shot to avoid intrusive modern stuff, but it can be done if...More

Not as old as the aqueduct at Segovia but it is still quite impressive. Traffic still drives right between the arches and it is one of the defining emblems of Elvas

The structure impressed me a lot, even though I have seen aqueducts before. It's definitely worth visiting.
