I go to Faro every month for work... i am always amazed by the unpretencious beauty of this town. Nice people, nice weather, great food!

Walked around the Museum in the old convent - worth a visit as well as the convent church (entry fee). Cobble stones took their revenge despite having stout shoes. They are ankle jarring and in places very uneven.

Spent a few hours wandering through the narrow streets and enjoying the orange trees around the square near the Catherdral.

You might think that a major city in a global tourism hotspot like the Algarve is less cozy. However, this is not the case regarding the Old Town Faro. People are very helpful, especially when they know you are not from the UK.

The main tourist areas are lovely, however, the whole town is very derelict with lots of closed businesses. Not sure if they were closed because it was winter but whole area needs updating. Easy to walk around

I spent a long weekend in Faro and found it an authentic and relaxing experience. I imagine being February also helped but over Carnival weekend it could have been noisy and busy. It's a pretty town to just walk around and admire the views. The...More

Hi, we mainly used the tourist train. Covers 4 main stops and wasn't too bad price wise. Sometimes the queues were long and at busy times you couldn't always get on the train but it comes back around 15 mins later. Stops... More

Most of the high quality restaurants we were in asked for dietary issues to be advised to staff so presumably would ensure you were catered for.
