We decided to have a break from our golf and took a tour of this museum. From the outside you have no idea what's inside. It cost 6euros for four of us, which is fantastic value when you get to see the installation. You get...More

This was an unusual but somewhat interesting museum. I'm not sure that I would have wanted to pay for it but it happened to be free the Sunday that we were there. It is located in a sardine factory which still has the original equipment.

The Museum mostly covers the tradition and history of fishing industry in Portimao. Generally interesting, but not very big.

We visited on a rainy day but don't wait for rain. This is a very informative display of the sardine fishing and canning industry.

Love going to this Museum, Portimao culture is fascinating and their people are amazing. They keep everything clean and well organised. It's also good value for money.

What a gem of a find on a cold rainy day. A contemporary museum that maintains much of the original fittings of the fish canning factory. Tells the story of canning through a mix of means from a delightful film to models using original fixtures...More
