But not to clean. We've been to this beach many times over the years, it is so convenient if you are staying in Horta. BUT, there is a small beach on the opposite side of Horta, by the round about that is so much better.

The bay is a clean, fine-sand beach, it provides good support services like free showers, toilets, bar, first aid (Blue Flag). Water is warm, clean, without dangerous waves.

One of the most beautiful beaches in Faial. Very interesting are the "Whale Factory" and the Aquarium. Perfect water to swim.

The real way if you wanna live a vulcanic beach. No noises, no music, no mobile phone, no scream. Just ocean and black vulcanic sand. A really paceful and relaxing place in Horta.

This is one of two best views to the beautiful Horta. Nothing up there except for a nice start for a walk around the protected area...and the good view.

We walked over to this area from downtown Horta - it's quite close. We were happy to see the museum was open. This museum was smaller than expected given the size of the building & the fact that it processed whales. The entrance fee was...More
