Main Street and Cobblestones

Walk up and down the street, admire the side walks with white cobble stone designs and know that every stone you see was hand carved with incredible workmanship.

The street is paved with cobble stones and the sidewalks have black and white cobble stone patterns to them. Very quaint. The main avenue passes many shops restaurants and churches. Very scenic stroll.

Quaint houses line both sides of this cobbled main Street, where all principal shops, Banks, pharmacies, etc are located. Even at so-called busy times of the day, one can stroll comfortably and enjoy the friendly and charming atmosphere and perhaps stop for some kind of refreshment in one of many cafes.

This beautiful little street captures all the charm of Angra. The beautiful mosaic sidewalks offer a visual treat to all. The street is flanked by cute shops and restaurants, and there are lots of opportunities to window shop or purchase a souvenir or two. The little shop with Angra memorabilia is run by the nicest lady. Her English is very... More

So I gave Rue da Se 3 instead of 2 stars because I'm sure the settlers didn't think of tourism when deciding on cobblestone streets and sidewalks. The sidewalk is, in most places, about 18 inches wide with poles in the middle every so often. The street is hilly with lots of side streets branching off of it. The cobblestone... More

This is the main road in town, so you are walking or driving here if you are visiting. It is a wonderful cobblestone street with shops and restaurants as well as some historical markers/places.

What beautifully maintained gardens. This place was absolutely breathtaking and serene. After milling around in the gardens, we walked up the steps (lots of steps) to the top of the monument. The views were spectacular!

This is a great place to stop and relax while visiting the city. The gardens are very well maintained and are gorgeous. It's a local spot that you'll see young and old alike enjoying the serenity.
