We liked the main rooms a lot, gorgeous decoration and very original too. The religious collection is not my cup of tea.

This museum is based around Santa Johanna and her life. When you buy your ticket ask for an audio guide as there is no indication they are on offer. Although the signage around the museum is very good the audio guide augments them The chapel is very impressive although our visit was restricted by a tour group sitting in the... More

Although it might not look very impressive from the outside, the Aveiro Museum is a must. Besides having a very good painting collection, it is located in a beautiful convent which includes the incredible marble tomb of the Princess Saint and the amazing baroque church, completely covered in gilded woodcarving. NEVER miss it!

If you want to see just one church during your trip to Portugal, make it this one... we planned only 30 minutes to see the chapel and spend almost 3 hours touring the entire facility... it is a true treasure!

We allowed a little more time for this museum as we could see it is a big building. The entrance area gives just a hint of what is to come with its collection of artefacts and the usual gift shop. The fee is €5 per person, a bit more than the other museums in Aveiro, but as you get a... More

The actual Museum of Aveiro is installed into the Old Convent of Jesus of the Dominican Female Community and this sins. It is one of the oldest Convents in the city of Aveiro, it remains from the 15th century. Now it is a museum of Religious Arts. The entrance price is 5 €, and for people who love this kind... More

I thought this meusem mightve been more about Aveiro but was all about saint Joanne. Only worth going if you are interested in religious art & artifacts, if not there is nothing else much to see. Is in old convent. The reception area had funny damp musty smell. Wasn't for us - but at least it is cheap enough to... More
