Local vegetables and fruits sold on Saturdays. Small but nice market, and a must visit for everyone who wants to support local organic agriculture.

We took the shuttle through the park to Coimbra University. It looked like a beautiful place to spend some time and relax. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to do more than drive through it.

As botanical gardens go this definitely needs a lot of work and has been neglected. I can imagine in the summer it's a good place to find shade and peace and quiet but I wouldn't make a special trip to visit it. However, it just...More

This place is really great, a lot of wonderful species of plants and trees but it seems that is a little neglected. Good place for walk and relax.

Went in the afternoon just for a walking. Superb. Really nice place, lots of hidden spots to have a good reading or just talking and taking photos. Recommended!

I like free entry botanical gardens (like the one in Geneva). This was free, but with a lot of areas closed and thus not so many things to see. So you can enjoy quiet rest in the shades, but that's about all.

If you want to rest after you visited the university then the botanical gardens are perfect. The quiet benches in the shade between all the trees and flowers are the perfect spot to have a little rest.

You really must visit this botanic garden when you are in Coimbra, An oasis of nature and quiet. So nice on a hot day after climbing all the way up to the university :)
