A very charming garden, with many different types of trees and plants, some of them are indeed rare and they were brought into this garden from various parts of our planet. In my opinion, the best period to visit this garden is Autumn, when the leaves of various trees begins to change their colours (from green to various shades of... More

I really love the Coimbra's botanic garden, but the area that visitors can walk is not that big. Huge trees, a beautiful fountain. Should have more information about the plants and trees. But it is a good place to take pictures and the relax. Entrance is free, but is never crowded. A importante information is that the place has stairs... More

This is a beautiful garden with many established trees and plants. I think it would be a lovely place to sit and relax in the shade in hot weather. I would not say that there is a great deal of planting here, and there seems to be not much in the conservatory. The best thing about the garden is the... More

Nothing crazy, but a nice place for a shady stroll on a hot Coimbra day. Worth walking through if you have time to kill between meals.

Very calm and relaxing park with lots of exotic species and lovely places to sit and enjoy nature in the middle of the city. It is not too crowded so very pleasing overrall

This is a nice green space but has various closed off pathways and no explanation as to whether we could get out of the park at another gateway to the one we entered at by the aqueduct. There is an amazing, large SkyGarden with ropes and raised walks across a valley, open 10-20 in summer but not open in winter... More

I love gardens and take every opportunity. This garden has splendid layout with very old trees, shady areas, seats and water features. It could be amazing. However, many areas were closed off with big iron gates, meaning that the area to be explored was quite small. I wished I had taken my gloves and secateurs and given them a hand... More

I have visited more than 5 botanical gardens throughout my life until now and this one is definitely the less exciting. Nothing much to see or to explore with minimum explanation and indication, however its location near the river gives you some nice spots for good photographs. You should expect some winds.

Beautiful big trees protect you from the hard sun. Try to grasp a snak and a coffe or soft drink and enjoy the views. Wander and admire the beautiful trees. Not the kind of manicured "artificial look" botanical garden.
