Booking this hotel from australia as a very special two night stay towards the end of our holiday in Portugal was meant to feel like a really special destination. Much was made by the website- such as an invitation to join the exclusive club of Small Hotels of the World with the promise of a free room upgrade as this... More

We spent two nights here in March 2017 and enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were large and comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the restaurant had lovely views over the garden. The service was attentive, friendly and professional but never intrusive. We loved the spa which has a good sized pool and Turkish bath and sauna. Outside there is... More

The property is steeped in history, translates estate of tears. Once inside the rooms are beautiful, old shutters keep the light away and heat in the summer, furnished to a high degree, beds are really comfortable. Grounds are a pleasure to investigate. I liked the history which goes with the hotel. I bought the book. Staff were pleasant and friendly.

Had an issue with our room but manager came to the rescue and moved us to a wonderful room as it was our anniversary. I would not stay in the spa section if you are offered that option. Beautiful pool, (tho a little chilly- just wishful thinking for Oct. Garden and love story of Ines and Pedro were a highlight.... More

To clarify, there are two quintas that can be reviewed. The hotel and the grounds in back of the hotel which can be visited separately for 2.50 euro. This review the latter. I was looking for a cool space to kill some time on a hot day while waiting for an evening train. Sadly this really wasn't an answer. There... More

The place is very nice if the weather is nice or good. Not too big, you can spend 1~2 hours just contemplating and breathing the nice odours in the air
