Great layout and maintenance, but a bit expensive

The Oitavos Dunes is a great golf course. Nice layout and good maintenance. Greens was fast and even. Lots of bunkers - in good condition. Nice club-house and restaurant. A bit... read more

Crazy Golf on a large scale. Although the course is picturesque it's a terrible course to play golf. Balls landing on the fairway will in many cases run out directly in to waste land where it's almost impossible to find a ball. Even at half the outlandish price it would still not be worth it. Lots of other really good... More

This is a fabulous course to play. Fun holes, incredible views, walkable. Must play here at least twice. If you come to Portugal for golf this is the top course.

Our party consisted of 2 couples (HCP: 12,12,18 & 22) and was booked through Golfbreaks.com so we did not know the usual price for playing at this establishment. We have since found out that is 125 euros. I was injured so I required a buggy. I was charged 70 euros, which by any comparison was extremely expensive. The normal in... More

The Oitavos Dunes is a great golf course. Nice layout and good maintenance. Greens was fast and even. Lots of bunkers - in good condition. Nice club-house and restaurant. A bit expensive. We had to pay €70 for a buggy - a total rip-off. But if I am back in Cascais, I will certainly play this course again.

Overrated. Overpriced. Under-maintained. We had booked for six players but two late drop-outs meant we were just four (all mid-handicappers). The agency informed the four courses we were playing a couple of days ahead and two of them (Troia and Praia De’El Rey) were good enough to refund the green fees, despite being not busy. But not Oitavos Dunes (nor... More

Played here with 16 golfers at the weekend . Great layout particularly once you get out from the first 3 holes. Into the wind this is very tough , a little easier coming home . Greens are good could be a little quicker but maybe because of the wind they keep them as they are. Fairways a little scruffy in... More

Played here after cancelling round elsewhere. Futuristic clubhouse and hotel which looks like a cross between a warehouse and an airport. Clubhouse also minimalist and booby trapped with doors that open onto a 2 feet drop onto tiled floor. Basics lacking -no on course toilets, no halfway house just one refreshment buggy driving round. We are 6 and 18 handicappers... More

Personally I would rate this golf course mainly as the one with great views, set within a very nice scenery, however on windy days it can be tricky, hence I would recommend morning tee off, specially during Spring/Summer as the wind usually kicks in at noon.
