We walked into the fort but had to find our own way around. It is a magnificient building but inside has been turned into an upmarket hotel so it has lost its charisma.

FREE VISIT. There is a beautiful and interesting exposition about the forts in Cascais. The view is amazing and it can be reached by bike from Casa da Guia. It's worth a visit.

An interesting relic of a time when relations between England and Portugal were less amicable than today! A good selection of old weaponry and uniforms on display and you can walk around the parapet of the fort for a panoramic view. This is a better...More

On the coast about 6 kilometres west of Cascais, this is an interesting historic fort with original cannons and shot still in place, plus explanation in the museum of its history and importance.
