On my walk from São João do Estoril to Cascais, the Poça Beach reminded me of my grandchildren every step: a clean water, you can see the fishes through it, with natural (? ) pools.

Delightful golden-sand beach where umbrellas et al. are available and stunning, crystal-clear turquoise water. The noise from the eateries can be a bit boisterous.

Estoril beachfront offers great beaches, a wonderful promenade that stretches for kilometers and kilometers and has loads of restaurants and pubs and offers great cycling, jogging or walking opportunities. The promenade links you up with Cascais. This is a wonderful area to spend hours and...More

Nice sandy beach, easily accessible from train, bus station. Lots of shops to get your drinks, restaurants and ice cream stalls are available. Good for joggers, children too. Many dog owners are also around with their dogs. If you are in Estoril, don't miss it....

Visited in september, waves weren't dangerous(although they get bigger after noon), the water was rather cold, but that's not a huge issue; the fact that there is a calisthenics equipment 50 meters away from the beach was a HUGE bonus for me. Also, you can...More

Unlike further along the west Atlantic coast, there are no surfing waves here making the sea suitable for children. There are small warm rock pools at one end of the beach. Ice creams and drinks are readily available. Also the position of the beach makes...More

...from Phoenix, Arizona. An ever-changing sea, a broad, well kept esplanade that is an excellent walk to the touristy but beautiful Cascais is a twenty minute stroll away.

We were looking for a beach not as busy as Tamariz in Estoril, and we found Poça just around the corner. It's about a 10 minutes walk from Estoril train station and is frequented more by the locals, than tourists. Really friendly beach, spacious, quite...More

The beach has sun loungers and shades for hire (around 15 euros for two as I recall). There are a couple of nice restaurants close by and always life guards around.
