We got here via the "Sightseeing Portugal" Hop-On-Off Red bus Blue route - it was stop #4, Chiado. There is a small park here with great views of the castle and city - great for photos! We then walked the area using a map. A...More

We always seemed to end up here when we were out and about the city. It is the place we knew we were guaranteed to catch a taxi. You can also get the Hop on Hop off buses in this area. There are many attractions...More

We passed a few days in an apartment in chiado and it was a good choice. This district is secure, clean , with many people in the streets from early in the morning till past midnight. The sea front is very pleasant.

Chiado Lisbon I loved my stay in Chiado! The lovely outside boutique style stores. The multi-floor shopping mall at the bottom of the R. Garrett. The lovely views and squares such as Largo do Carmo. The musicians playing their instruments on corners and in squares...More

The best place for shopping in Lisbon. And a good place to have a coffee at Café Brasileira sitting besides Fernando Pessoa , the famous portuguese poet and writer statue.

I go here every week and I’m still not tired of it. Besides of all the coffee shops and clothes shops, you also have the beautiful view to the river. Perfect for a walk on sunny days!

Lots of great restaurants, shops and HILLS! But a fun place to be. It is close to the harbor--you can walk everywhere. Often there are cabs outside the Hotel do Chiado or you can call an Uber to get around but exploring is really fun.

Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally,
"squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers
plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can
stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its
streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and
viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the
famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa,
having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used

Yes they are, however like everywhere in the world "influenced by fast food chains" with a bit of local taste. as Portuguese i suggest you to go to Terreiro do Paço or Alfama areas to really enjoy Portuguese culture.
