The waiters are not overly friendly but polite. The setting is indeed old but I personally loved it. There's a huge amount of porto's to choose from and the combination with cheese is delicious. It was perfect to end the day quietly, before going back...More

I am not a huge fan of port, but a friend told me to stop in here. The options were varied and I think a good place to get something different than you might find at a restaurant.

Just visited here with my adult daughter and we were very disappointed. There were no other guests in the entire place and we were treated with.....at best....cold disdain. When I asked for some suggestions or guidance the response was a sigh and a "I don't...More

Very cozy place with old bottles on shelves at the walls. We had 3 different port wines witch was a bit expensive, but they were all the money worth.

I visited the Solar for the first time about 9 years ago and then again shortly after. It was really nice, welcoming and a great ambience. Visiting it again this week I wasn't impressed, the service has definitely gone down. Not returning

This place has lots of port, and little else. The service isn't good so don't expect to have a good conversation about port, or even feel that welcome. But, if you want an extensive port list, this is a place.

This is basically a "port bar" where you can purchase the ports you try. And there a lot! When we went, the lady behind the bar made no attempt to offer advice or information about the ports on offer (it also opened 15 minutes late,...More

The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally,
"squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers
plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can
stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its
streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and

famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa,
