The Lapa Quarter is between Estrela and the river. It is a quiet residential area with very little traffic so good walking country. Most of the foreign embassies are here as well as the prime minister's residence.

This fascinating area is known in Lisbon as The Special Quarter and Lisboetas regard it as one of the best areas to live. We took 4 little girls (ages 5 through 11) to tea time at the Lapa Hotel and loved it! They also loved it and totally behaved like little princesses which was fitting for the place!
