Placed on the top of a central colin of the city, the belvedere is one of the Lisbon best kept secrets. It has a garden, "inside" views of the city and a café on the lower level. The street that leads to its entrance is very...More

I love finding places like this when exploring a city. Just noticing [from another reader's comments] there was an elevator but I walked up from Eduardo VII park. The tranquility was worth the burn walking up.

There is more to viewing Lisbon from the castle. This is a secluded spot where a nearby home with a lookout tower is a national historic site and was built by a cocoa trader in years gone by. Also nearby is Cave 23, a restaurant...More

I was looking for a park for a few hours before my flight. Hardin do Torel is a lovely little place to sit on a bench if you want to stay away from the crowd and enjoy the nature/view for a minute.

A hidden spot in the city where a decent view can be found. Take the tram to the top unless you're happy with the steep climb on a warm day.

I came across this by accident on one of my early morning walks in the narrow streets of Lisbon. The views over the city are fabulous. I came back in the afternoon to enjoy the sun, the view and a beer from the little café...More
