LISBON ZOO – GO AROUND THE WORLD IN JUST ONE DAY At Lisbon Zoo, we invite you to travel around the world without leaving Lisbon. Find the Sumatran Tigers in the dense vegetation of the Rainforest, observe lions, giraffes and elephants behaviour at the dry African Savannah and dazzle with the majestic flight of the colourful birds of South America. Our mission is to develop and promote a zoological and botanical park, as a centre of conservation, reproduction and reintroduction of endangered species, through scientific investigation and environmental enrichment programs. Along with education is a strong entertainment component that will ensure a great family time, always with the conviction that when visiting Lisbon Zoo you’re contributing to this great project of conservations of endangered species and their habitats.

I love going to zoos, but didn't realise there was one as it isn't greatly advertised. We only found out at it on a Yellow Bus tours leaflet. It was a really warm day, so most of the animals were out sunbathing. Baby zebras were...More

The Lisbon zoo is beautifully set up and easily accessible with a stroller. Be sure to check your map(very easy to read) and timings of the shows. It is bigger than expected and we roughly spent about 5 hours. We had visited on a Saturday,...More

Visited on a Sunday. Was very busy, but park is so big that there is plenty of space to walk around and view. It was very hot the day we went so some animals were sleeping or finding shade, very sensible I say. I found...More

Perhaps it was the time of day and the fact that Lisbon was experiencing a brief heat wave, but there were a LOT of animals that were either sleeping or simply nowhere to be seen. The zoo does have a nice setup/aesthetic in that everything...More

We visited on a friday afternoon/early evening, and the zoo wasn't crowded at all. There was a wide variety of different animals, the animals seem to have enough space and didn't seem stressed! We also saw a dolphin and sea lion show, which was fun,...More

But we'll run ones can support conservation, educate, and provide a reasonably pleasant environment for inmates as well as visitors. Being locked in the middle of a city this place was never going to offer safari park sized enclosures but it uses the space well...More
