And that is it.. it has gone through a restoration of the many explores shown on the side. It is a big monument, and the view is great. From the top you can see the map of the world on the ground showing all the...More

It was a beautiful day when we went to Belem. We were able to walk to see the sites. This is just down the road from the Tower of Belem, a very easy walk. It is located on a beautiful part of the coast. The...More

Second visit here. No queues and quick lift to top. Good view - although we visited when Lisbon hit 44 degrees so very hot outdoors. Small indoor exhibition containing close up photos of the statues attached to outside of monument.

This monument and the plaza in front of it is a must-see. Make sure you have a tour guide to explain all of the history associated with it. Very interesting and well worth the visit.

The lines were not too long (and you could rest in the shade of the monument) and we had a discount with the Lisbon Card so we decided to go up. The best thing is the view of the Jeronimo Monestary in front. There are...More

Very nice monument in a very good location in Belem. The views from the top observation deck are brilliant. A good zoom is a must, to capture the amazing panoramic views of the city. Thumbs up.

This fairly recent monument is dedicated to the early Portuguese explorers, who ventured into the unknown (when they weren’t sure if the world was flat) to “colonize” territories for Portugal. In doing so they brought back tremendous wealth, including gold and exotic spices. There is...More

Again, this is a structure to admire, but not something that is a must see. It’s really well made in its detail and you can climb to the top, which we didn’t as we’d already explored Belem enough for the day. The city of Belem...More
