This is a nice place for a drink or a lunch. There is a quiet patio in the back where you can enjoy the sun. If you are already there, you should certainly walk through the building/museum. We are not really sure but we think it's the intention that people order at the bar. They have two tasty burgers served... More

I've been there to watch movies, but this time I decided to try the restaurant. My first impression wasn't great, I was in the hurry and the service was slow. We had soup, the cheese plate and a cup of red wine which were ok, and the tomato "tiborna" which was nothing special. The price wasn't expensive (17€ for two),... More

Dinner and a movie in the center of Lisbon are part of the charm of the Cinemateca. Less expensive than a restaurant, more relaxed, with a quiet inner courtyard that is a pleasant escape from the bustling Lisbon street. Beautiful architecture, too.

We had dinner on a cold evening in December when the restaurant wasn't busy and the staff couldn't have been nicer to us. It's a great building, there was live music in the bookshop and the terrace looked as if it would be lovely in summer. There's a good menu with daily meat, fish and vegetarian specials: I had the... The Cinemateca's is modest and unassuming, which makes the beauty of what is inside even more astonishing. This film museum has a luxurious interior and a fantastic program with up to 5 or 6 high-quality movies a day. The films are carefully selected and are often followed by discussions with authors, critics or other artists, and, best of all, the... More

My first visit to this cinema was for the Sinatra cycle of movies. I was very impressed by the exposed brick look and the comfortable seating. The movie film had some parts that were damaged, but overall it was a great value.

Delightful arthouse cinema just off the Av. de Liberdade. Tickets are very cheap. Good rooftop bar to grab a drink before a screening. You can also browse a small collection of film artifacts (Hollywood headshots, old cameras, etc.)

This is a great arthouse cinema with an interesting, varied selection of films (lots of foreign films, subtitled in Portuguese), bargain ticket prices, exhibitions and a nice cafe with outside terrace and bookshop.

We stayed at the Ibis hotel nearby and were very happy to discover this bar! It's located on top of the Cinemateca but you can enter it without buying a ticket. Mostly locals, good atmosphere, friendly staff, honest food, good value. In summertime there's a rooftop terrace.

This lovely cinema has an excellent history of Portuguese cinema exhibition, a cafe and two very comfortable screens. The program is a wonderful mix of old and new films from all over through world.
