If you want to spend a penny - spend a euro

Quirky, fun and colourful. A great effort of making a public convenience into something altogether different.

The sign is misleading. Nothing sexy about this bathroom. You pay 1€ to use a regular bathroom stall and you get to pick the color of Toilet paper you want to use.

This is definitely a curiosity and being right in the Praça do Comércio, you'll definitely pass it at some point. It's a designer toilet which you can use for €1 (you choose whichever colored toilet paper you fancy). There's a small gift shop with Renova paper products, but you really only need to visit this WC if you need a... More

This was a fun little side trip after going to the Lisbon Story also located in Praca Comercio. 1 Euro each and you get to pick your own fun colored very nice toilet paper for your restroom break. My kids thought it was hilarious to take pictures in the restroom with their tp of choice. We ended up stopping here... More

Very original bathroom with just 1 euro entry fee. You can choose your own toilet roll before going in - it has so many colors! Though its is very small, you will see it in less than 10min... but for me was still fun and original :) At the entrance you have a small Renova shop with tissues, napkins, fun... More

It's definitely not a destination, but a silly experience. A branding concept exhibit. We walked 4 blocks out of the way to get here and enjoyed ourselves. Any more than that though and we would have been disappointed.

It is worth visiting, cause its so special. But its not sexy if your toilet is not clean. The Toilet-Ring was a mess, had to clean the Ring myself before I could sit. :(

No, seriously. That's all it is, a bathroom. So if you need to go pee and wanted to pay a dollar, then you should go. Lol. Otherwise, just use the bathroom in the hotel or restaurant you are at.

Ok, it was a good laugh to see the way they'd sold this WC using sex. However I don't think they'd approve if you actually had sex there... The many colours of toilet paper were a nice touch. Like I say, go once.

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
