Bit disappointing. Tour is mainly inside the Palace, which is sparsely furnished and under renovation. We didn't do a guided tour, which probably would have explained history of the Palace.
We travelled by bus to Sintra in the morning from Lisbon. It was easy to get to both the National Palace of Sintra and the Park and Palace of Pena. We suggest that the Palace of Pena be toured first. The ceilings in the National...More

A tour guide directed us to this palace. It is not worth the time or the money. Completely over rated. We have really enjoyed our vacation but regret the day we spent in Sintra. Transportation and tourist nightmare.
We arrived in Sintra mid afternoon and it was nice this attraction is right in the town of Sintra. Next to nobody touring it later in the afternoon which was nice. Was a pleasant way to spend an hour.
