The best views ever from the top of any palace. The palace can be very busy at times. It has a unique vonination of colors.

Certainly the most famous monument of Sintra, at the top of the highest hill of Sintra. It is highly recommended to use the bus 434 from the main station to save time and efforts. The park is very big and we did not have time to visit it, unfortunately. We focussed on the castle and it was already worth the... More

This turned out to be a pretty terrible waste of time. We went to the beautiful sintra and we were told that you have to see that palace. You feel like it's a must see- but what a load of touristic nonsense. We went to the the Moorish castle first (€8 each) and we expected that would be the only... More

Getting there is no small thing but it's a must-see. The inside is interesting but we liked walking the palace walls the most and spent hours there. There's quite a decent cafe there with good food at fair prices- not what you'd expect for a place with a monopoly on food vending. Make sure you catch the bus from the... More

Sintra is full of wonders and this is certainly the cherry on the top of it...or the palace in the top of it...if it's singular architecture, natural location is not enough for you to want to visit, well I can give you more reasons... You can hike your way to the top and enjoy the amazing natural park (flyers with... More

We walked on beautiful woodland paths up to the Moorish Castle and then on to Pena Palace and then to the Countess's Chalet which made a great climb with amazing views and very interesting ruins and architecture. For us, the walk in the forest was as important as the cultural sites and together made a great day's outing. These sites... More

We only visited the gardens not the Palace. I say only because you could easily spend all day here exploring the paths and gardens including up to the high cross. You can also get right up to and around the palace (including cafe). It is a tranquil resort on a hot day and well recommended.

We took the hop on Hop off bus to reach the palace. To be honest I did not find it interesting inside the palace, outside looks like a dream palace which you will see it in movies. You need more time in exploring the garden outside, there are separate tickets for park and then the palace. You can walk from... More

Romantic Architectural style, maybe too many of them for the 19 th century...otherwise the garden and the view are amazing.
