More
The Moorish Castle is a military fortification that bears witness to the Islamic presence in the region, and was probably constructed between the eighth and ninth centuries and later expanded after the Reconquista. Overlooking the town of Sintra, it served as a watchtower, guaranteeing the protection of Lisbon and its surroundings.

Full of history and beautiful views! Very exciting to see where the Moors were attacked, and the archaeological sites! Definitely worth the money, but it was VERY windy up on the castle walls. Do bring a scarf for the neck and ears.

Various tour companies will take you there and then to Pena Palace in Sintra. I am not sure if you can reserve a guide on its website though.
