We bought tickets at the Palace in town for each of the sites (no queues there) then a bus ticket with our first stop (after a bit of divination) at Castle of the Moors. Once at the castle it’s quite a walk up through interesting...More

This was an amazing visit! It is castle ruins so you can walk along the length of it to various turrets and look off points. You're going to want to take tons of pictures of course, and all of our photos turned out great. As...More

This castle takes you right back to the original rulers of the area - the Moors. It is amazing that it is still standing. Walk along the walls and imagine what it was like to guard this area. It's not as overtly amazing as the...More

The Moorish Castle is one of the least popular places to visit in the Sintra area. This is a shame as the views of the surrounding countryside - and of Pena Palace - are stunning and it is a thrill to walk the walls. The...More

Compared to the palace next door there is significantly less to do at the moorish castle. Some excellent photo opportunities but not as interesting (due to lack of signage) as further up the hill.

The place is not so big, but the walls are long. There is very windy so take some jacket with you. The view which is opened from walls is worthseeing - all Sintra is as if you put it on your palm. The price for...More

I walked down to it from Pena Palace and enjoyed watching it unfolding. The castle walls are intact and you can walk around the castle. As much walking as I did this day in Sintra...I decided that I didn't need to go to the very...More

We had a great time walking around here. It was extremely foggy when we visited, so unfortunately we were not able to take in the expansive views, but the fog did add a certain ethereal aesthetic to the experience. One thing you should be warned...More

Well worth a visit.Great views but one needs stamina to walk to to the top. We were exhausted but exhilarated by the experience. Did not walk the whole length of the walls because of the former. Can get very chilly and misty at this height.
