This is one of the best levada hikes in Madeira. We went during rainy season, January, but it was still beautiful. You ascend into a cloud forest, and follow the irrigation channels for 4 miles until you get to the magnificent waterfall of Caldeirão Verde....More

This is so far our favorite walk in Madeira. Beautiful woods, amazing views, pretty difficult very long hike. It has 4 tunnels on its way, so to go through you have to have a torch. Watch your head all the time- the roof is low...More
