Take a stroll

Nice place to take a stroll along the water front and see the cruise liners. Busy traffic on one side and sea/ harbour on the other but plants separate the two.

Nice place to walk along the sea front in Funchal. Lots to see, and bars and restaurants. Unfortunately a few too many characters trying to pounce on you and sell you sunglasses, jewellery, trips etc.

Place fore a slow stroll, In the sunshine it is very nice. Unfortunately there are coming more and more salesmen who cant leave You along, its really bad fore the tourism..many guests we heard was complaning about them. There are plenty of cafees and restaurants in the marina and on the promenad...and they are expensive.

Many tourists here but it is a lovely walk with plenty of places to eat and drink some on the waterside. Busy thoroughfare with many buses and other traffic but still really nice. Looked particularly pretty as we were there for Christmas so there were very pretty decorations around. Lots of near by places to shop and browse, can imagine... More

The main Avenue along the Coast Road back up into the Town areas. You can walk from there to the various sights around Funchal and find your way back to the Buses from return jounies etc.

This newly completed Promenade offers the travller a rest from the hills and climbs one inevtiably gets whilst wandering through Funchal. Located right opposite the Port where the ships dock, you can view the Cruise Liners up close. There are a few shops selling souvenirs as you walk along towards the CR7 Museum, but one of them has a better... More

Plenty of variety. At the western end there is a small-boat harbour with a sailing school, and you can book a boat trip. Next, the main port with cruise ships docking and a replica of an old sailing ship. There is the Ronaldo Museum there with his statue outside. The remainder is a nice walk with lots of seating which... More

Here you can stroll or perhaps run along the sea. The community of Funchal has done this to a fantastic place. We have visited Funchal during more than 35 years and we are so impressed. Take a book with you and sit down and relax

In good weather, this is a delightful area to stroll along. There are some interesting statues along the way and loads of eating, drinking and shopping opportunities. There are good views out to sea and plenty to see, as Funchal has a busy harbour. Also nice views along the coastline, with its stunning sea cliffs.

There are plenty of places to sit and eat an ice cream or snack and watch the world go by, or boats/cruise ships come and go. This is a nice walk along the waterfront.
