Great one-day trip to Porto Santo - amazing beach.
Outbound ferry trip at 7am went well, return trip at 8pm is crowded and most passengers have no consideration for other people. They will occupy large seating areas and be in the restaurant area playing cards...More
We thought this was an excellent day out but (1) if you can book first class. We had lots of space (other people we met struggled to find seats on the rest of the boat) and a meal both ways (served as soon as the...More
You board the ferry for a 2 1/4hr cruise to the island. The ship provides lots of places to sit, reclining chairs, tables, outdoor seating etc. The cafes are good. When you get to Porto Santa you need to organise transport to get to the...More
My wife and I booked to visit Porto Santo with transfers which In general was fine but we do agree with the cost is somewhat over the top.
We would suggest your staff should police the seating areas to manage the selfish and inconsiderate travellers...More

Have only been once on a bigger cruise ship so my experience is limited, but the ship itself is pretty nice for its purpose with a cinema and video game room. But the trip is pretty short (2.5h) so boredom isn't really a danger. The...More
It is worth it to buy the 1st class ticket! You pay +9,5euros and you have a private lounge at the top floor of the ship with leather sofas and best views. There is a simple bufet and coffee/water for free. The economy class was...More

Hi, when we went in June although we had to enter passport number when booking online, nobody asked for any ID when boarding either at Funchal or on the return journey. I had taken mine in case they wanted it at the hotel we'd booked, but even there they didn't need to see it.

No. Unfortunately there is only the one sailing a day from Porto Santo to Madeira. The ferry leaves Porto Santo at 6pm and arrives Funchal about 8.15pm and only returns to Porto Santo the next morning at 8.am. I know that the ferry does leave Funchal on Friday pm and remains in Porto Santo overnight returning to Funchal on Saturday morning but you will need to check out the availability and conditions of this sailing as I don't know anyone who used it on those sailings. I should think it is for passenger use, I can't see why it would run empty!. hope this helps.
