The island is wonderful and well worth a visit. The ferry trip is ok. Well worth the money it costs, however, contrary to every where else we went on Madeira and Porto Santo, we found the service terrible. The staff were miserable and unfriendly. Windows...More

We made the crossing from Madera to Porto Santo on a particularly rough day so perhaps this review is a bit unfair. The boat was certainly rather unstable during the rough seas and was very dangerous when moving around.

This ship is very comfortable compared with others I have experienced, the crossing also affords great views of the islands and unique views of Funchal as you return. Highly recommended. You do however need to be prepared for the steep gang planks which must be...More

This is a good ferry with plenty to keep you occupied. There is a few different bars for food and drink, a kids play room and cinema. If you pay an extra 12 Euros each way you can go into the first class lounge if...More

The ferry usually is taken out of service in mid January for annual maintenance. This takes approximately 4-5 weeks and it returns in late February.
