Went around after a nice lunch. Nice little walk up a hill to burn off the large amount of calories consumed. It is a nice little attraction and just about worth the €5 entry fee to go in. Nice info pack in each room about...More

This is a fascinating palace, nice descriptor cards in multiple languages in each room detailing the pieces on display. We were lucky to visit while the Leonardo da Vinci exhibition was also on, its worth paying the additional entrance fee to visit this.

We enjoyed a trip in time at this castle. There are a variety of exhibitions from dining hall to bedroom to weapons along with wallrugs and vases.

We visited the palace and enjoyed it very much. They also had an exhibition of machines made from DaVinci drawings that was fabulous. The visit was well laid out and there was a lot to see.

This seems more like a fortification than a palace. Very solid construction, somewhat improved, and bizarre brick chimneys.

It's a bit too restored for my taste yet well worth a visit, inside and out. The park setting, many tall chimneys, fascinating roof frames, interesting furnishing and beautiful tapestries are quite interesting.

This is impressive from the outside but equally so inside . The combined ticket for the palace and the tower at €6 is great value . Even though the palace has been restored it is a must see in Guimares.

We had a very quick tour of this palace as we were the last entry. It was a nice attraction. Our guide told us that is the official residence of the President when he visits Guimaraes. The furnishings are not original to the palace, but...More

Beautifully preserved palace offering historical and cultural artefacts throughout its stately rooms. The tapestries are exquisite. The Leonardo da Vinci exhibit was a separate entry fee and disappointing. The information cards were near floor level and impossible to read unless you decided to crawl around.
